Radio network

The Almost Radio Network began in January of 1996 as a way of bringing affordable (in most cases, free) showprep to broadcasters around the world. The network is maintained by Cosmo Rose, the host of The Breakfast Club morning radio program on Classy 100 (WXKC-FM) in Erie, Pennsylvania.

Cos was looking for show ideas and the station he was working for at the time didn't have it in the budget to pay for services like Bitboard... they weren't even able to pick up a subscription to The Morning Mouth. So, Cos decided to start his own sharing network, and began publishing a weekly web report of his own showprep, inviting others to join in.

The idea of a free sharing network really took off, and before long ARN had hundreds of affiliates on six continents.

After about one year, Almost Radio expanded into creating its own, original prep publications: Amazing Stories, The Cosmoscopes and The ARN Toy Box. Again, the idea was to keep the prep affordable and useable.

When ARN was launched it was located on a Prodigy Service Personal Web Page, and remained there for over two years.
